If freedom—being born again and made a new creation—comes only from the hand of God, then our experience of slavery to sin was never outside His plan.
If reconciliation, redemption, remission, and righteousness come solely from Him, and if we are utterly powerless to accomplish any of them ourselves, then remaining in sinful separation must also fall within His sovereign purpose.
Fundamental Christian and Catholic hierarchies—which are still governed by human nature—refuse to face this truth. Instead, they insist that our right actions are necessary to secure the experience of freedom, rather than acknowledging that freedom is secured by His action alone. They teach that being born again or reconciled to God depends on our decision to believe in Him, which makes our freedom from sin depend on us rather than on God. That is not merely mistaken; it is the exact opposite of the truth.
