What gives you hope?

I find hope in the revelation that all humanity has been redeemed and reconciled in Christ—and therefore will come to experience that redemption and reconciliation, which are ultimately destined for us all.

I think we can all agree that if the nature of God and the Holy Spirit fully animated our personal experience and expression, our experience of God and life would be much better than it currently is. With that being the case, it becomes critical to ask: what causes—or limits—the impact that the Holy Spirit has on our personal experience?

Conceptually, the New Testament draws a clear distinction between faith and works. Most believers understand that, in relation to pleasing God and receiving anything from Him, faith and works are opposites. However, in a practical sense, the way Christianity—and particularly Catholicism—often defines faith turns it into a work.
