What gives you hope?
I find hope in the revelation that all humanity has been redeemed and reconciled in Christ—and therefore will come to experience that redemption and reconciliation, which are ultimately destined for us all.
We experience this hope—of which faith is the substance—even as our sinful nature tells us that receiving redemption and reconciliation depends on whether a person uses their God-given free will to choose to believe and obey God. When we hear the truth from God, these contradictory concepts coexist within us. The latter concept exists on its own until we hear the gospel of our salvation from God. In other words, we experience this hope while living under the sinful condition that causes us to judge everyone, including ourselves, according to their works—an effect of being under a curse. (Galatians 3:10)
Put another way, God has guaranteed that all humanity will experience His life in Christ because of what he accomplished through Christ. The church, however, guarantees that you remain under a curse when it insists that your experience of His life depends on the choices you make.
Let God be true, and every person a liar.
